Meet the creator

My Garden Songs is made by Magdy — a British dad, gardener and the creator of CairoGarden.com — together with his two young daughters, whose love of singing in the garden started the whole thing.

How it started

Long before there were any songs, there was a garden. Magdy has spent years growing vegetables and sharing gardening with a large online audience through Cairo Garden. When his daughters were small, the garden became their playground — and he noticed something every parent of a toddler eventually notices: the children's music available to them was relentless. Loud, fast, flashing, engineered to hold attention rather than to give anything back.

So he started writing his own songs — about the things his girls actually saw in the garden. A badger that dug up the pots at night became Diggy Dots. A bedtime battle became Poppy Peep, the hedgehog who never sleeps. A patch of stubborn weeds became Weedy Weedy Weeds. His daughters inspired the two sisters in the songs, Rosy and Lilly.

How the songs are made

Every song begins with original lyrics written by Magdy, road-tested on the harshest possible audience: his own children. The songs are then produced with a warm British vocal sound and animated in a hand-drawn watercolour storybook style — soft lines, gentle colours and calm pacing, the visual opposite of the fast-cut style that dominates children's video. Modern AI production tools are used in the animation and music production pipeline, with every lyric, story and character created and directed by a human parent.

The quality control department

Every new song passes through the world's strictest review board before release: two small girls in front of the living-room telly. If they don't dance, sing along, or demand it again — it goes back to the drawing board.

The promise

Every My Garden Songs release keeps the same promise: it will be gentle, it will be honest about the real garden it came from, and a parent should be able to leave it playing without regretting it. If a song would not be sung to Magdy's own daughters at wind-down time, it does not get released.
